Ball mill is important equipment used for fine ore grinding operation in building materials, metallurgy, mining, electricity, and chemical industry. Modern ball mill integrates these advanced technologies into one. There are some features of modern ball mill as well as revolutions for old ball mill.
At first, it is energy saving and production improvement revolution. Many s have to improve product fineness, so they added new technology in it. In order to improve production, they increase filled amount in grinding body, so as to occupy ball mill motor margin capacity. If working current exceeds the rated current, lines of the original electrical burning will occur frequently. If in serious case, motor also burned and outages cut off.  However, now users make some change and use rolling bearings, many problems have been resolved. At the same time, ball mill has effects of power saving and energy saving.
On the other hand, modern ball mill has solved many disadvantages of old type ball mill. Some exist manufacturing defects, which cause ball mill problems, such as poor concentricity of hollow shaft at both ends of drum, unstable current, burning, bearing and shaft wear and power off. In such case, we should change main bearing with rolling bearing so that it can run normally.
There are some factors affecting ball mill working efficiency, such as water amount, ball stone, speed reduction device, current, etc. The amount of ore stone water content will without doubt have effect on working efficiency. Therefore, we add water with proper amount to processed ore. It works for efficiency improvement.
 The diameter of stone ball used in ball mill is one of factors. Different sizes stone ball is good for grinding ore rocks, as it can grind more completely. Finally, rotating speed directly affect work efficiency of ball mill. We should improve ball mill rotating speed to improve operation efficiency. Install speed regulator can improve situation to some extent. And it has same effect to install transducer in ball mill. Besides, the current is equal to power input. Increase current will drive rotating speed. However, current improvement is limited in a certain range. The upper limit of current can be reached if the power reached rated power range. Once the current exceed, it will cause ball mill burning.
