    在VMware下使用Ubuntu操作系统,后来发现虚拟机镜像越来越大,很快就要超过了创建时所分配的空间大小,于是乎想创建一个新的磁盘分区来进行数据的保存,同时也可以用作数据的备份操作。

    1、首先通过VMware创建一个新的磁盘分区

    a)  VM-> Settings->Hard Disk

    b)  ADD -> Hard DIsk -> Next

    c)  Create a new virtual disk -> Next

    d)  SCSI (Only SCSI disks can be added while the VM is powered on) -> Next

    e)  Maximum disk size(GB): 10GB -> Store virtual disk as a single file ->  Next

     f)  选择一个镜像的保存路径和镜像名,我此处保存到为:F:\UbuntuBackup\Ubuntu-0.vmdk  -> Finish

    g)  OK

    至此,一个虚拟的镜像就创建好了,此时重新启动虚拟机。

    2、确定一个新创建分区:

     # fdisk /dev/sdb

     Device contains neither a valid DOS partition table, nor Sun, SGI or OSF disklabel
     Building a new DOS disklabel with disk identifier 0xf3bad1fb.
     Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
     After that, of course, the previous content won't be recoverable.

     Warning: invalid flag 0x0000 of partition table 4 will be corrected by w(rite)

     WARNING: DOS-compatible mode is deprecated. It's strongly recommended to
             switch off the mode (command 'c') and change display units to
             sectors (command 'u').

    80 block groups
    32768 blocks per group, 32768 fragments per group
    8192 inodes per group
    Superblock backups stored on blocks:
     32768, 98304, 163840, 229376, 294912, 819200, 884736, 1605632

    Writing inode tables: done
    Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information: done

    This filesystem will be automatically checked every 27 mounts or
    180 days, whichever comes first.  Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.

    # mkdir /backup

    # mount /dev/sdb1 /backup/

    # cd backup/

    # ls
    lost+found

    OK,添加新的磁盘分区成功了。
