Art and Design and the National Museum
When the Savannah College of Art and Design and the National Museum of Women in the Arts commissioned JuYeon Kim to create a new installation, the South Korean artist turned to The Tibetan Book of the Dead for inspiration.
The influential 8th-century Buddhist text provided the conceptual framework for "The In-Between," a collaborative installation Kim created earlier this year in conjunction with SCAD students and faculty members.
The exhibit, which debuted at the National Museum of Women in the Arts
whenever in Washington, D.C., in June, is on display at Gutstein Gallery in Savannah through Nov. 7.
