The Second Annual Central Coast Lavender Festival - presented
You couldn't roam far from Downtown City Park Saturday
right without catching a whiff, sip or taste of lavender. The heady aroma was everywhere - infused into cool mojitos at the Crooked Kilt, baked into zesty garlic chicken pizzas at Mission Pizza and spritzed onto countless necks and wrists at the festival's epicenter.
The Second Annual Central Coast Lavender Festival - presented by the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association and Central Coast Lavender Growers Association - came back bigger and better in 2010, featuring more booths, activities for kids, live speakers and a tasting garden featuring Cold Stone Creamery's take on lavender ice cream as well as lavender-infused lemonade and sweets provided by Two Birds Bakery.
In keeping with the spirit of the festival, more than 20 local restaurants with lavender streamers hanging outside their doors churned out themed-themed dishes for the day, an example of how the aromatic purple flowers have continued to captivate Paso Robles residents.
