CHICAGO — Drew Stubbs hit three of the Cincinnati Reds' season-high seven home runs on Sunday to lead a 14-3 romp over the Chicago Cubs.

The Reds had four of the homers during an eight-run seventh inning, all coming after Cubs starter Ted Lilly (3-7) retired the first two batters. Brandon Phillips began the barrage with a solo shot to left, and Jonny Gomes added a two-run homer. Jeff Stevens then surrendered a solo home run to Corky Miller, and after back-to-back walks, Stubbs went deep for the second time.

He also hit a solo home run in the third inning and another solo shot in the ninth.

Mike Leake (6-1) picked up the victory, going six innings to win for the first time since June 5 against Washington. Three relievers combined to pitch three perfect innings.

Tyler Colvin hit a pair of homers to account for all three of the Cubs' runs.

DENVER (AP) — The Rockies blew a three-run lead in the eighth inning, then watched Todd Helton rescue them with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the 15th against San Francisco.

Dexter Fowler led off the inning with a triple off the wall in left centre. Guillermo Mota (0-3) intentionally walked Jonathan Herrera and Carlos Gonzalez, and Helton drove the first pitch he saw to left field, allowing Fowler to score easily.

Randy Flores (2-0) pitched the 15th after Esmil Rogers worked four scoreless innings.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Tony Gwynn Jr. hit a bases-loaded single up the middle with one out in the ninth inning to help the Padres take three of four from the struggling Astros.

It was the Padres' 11th win in their final at-bat at home and their third straight.

Houston's Lance Berkman homered in the first and tied the game with an RBI triple in the eighth, before Yorvit Torrealba started the winning rally when he singled to right on the first pitch from Brandon Lyon (5-3). Aaron Cunningham sacrificed, Everth Cabrera was intentionally walked and pinch-hitter Matt Stairs of Fredericton walked to load the bases for Gwynn.

Heath Bell (4-0) pitched a perfect ninth for the win.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Adam Wainwright threw a five-hitter and added a three-run double off fellow first-time all-star Yovani Gallardo, and the Cardinals coasted to an easy win.

Gallardo (8-4) left in the third inning with a side injury, after allowing six runs in his shortest outing of the season. Only one of them was earned.

Wainwright's double was the big hit in a five-run third as the Cardinals capitalized on consecutive fielding errors by shortstop Alcides Escobar.

Another Brewers all-star, Corey Hart, homered for the lone damage against Wainwright (12-5), who struck out nine and walked none for his fourth complete game of the season.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Garrett Jones and Delwyn Young drove in two runs each during a six-run seventh inning, and the last-place Pirates beat the Phillies for the third time in four games.

Pirates rookie Pedro Alvarez started the rally with his second homer in as many games, making a loser of Jose Contreras (3-3).

The defending NL champion Phillies couldn't hold a 5-2 lead in losing their fourth in five games. Evan Meek (4-2), a former Rule 5 pick selected earlier in the day as the Pirates' lone all-star representative, won it by retiring the Phillies in the seventh.

Octavio Dotel secured it in the ninth with his 19th save in 22 tries.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jason Bay of Trail, B.C., drove in four runs, Angel Pagan drove in two more and all-star third baseman David Wright added two hits and scored two runs for the Mets.

Ike Davis added a two-run homer in the third inning to make a winner of Hisanori Takahashi (7-3), who allowed a three-run homer to Ryan Zimmerman but was otherwise stingy on the mound.

Bay's first four-RBI game with the Mets came on a two-run triple in the first and a two-run single in the fourth. Both hits came with two outs, and in all, New York scored six times with two outs. The Mets entered the game batting .213 with two outs, the lowest mark in the majors.

New York scored eight runs in the first four innings — seven against Craig Stammen (2-3).

PHOENIX (AP) — Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer off reliever Aaron Heilman in the eighth inning and the Dodgers went on to take two of three from the Diamondbacks.

Chad Billingsley and Arizona's Dan Haren each allowed one run. Billingsley left after six innings, and Haren after seven. That left it up to the bullpens, and it was no contest.

Hong-Chi Kuo (3-1) struck out six of the seven batters he faced in two scoreless innings to get the win. Chris Young's eighth-inning double was only the third Surveillance&Security 1/3inch sony ccd in china hit against Kuo in 31 at-bats by NL West batters this season. Jonathan Broxton pitched a scoreless ninth for his 17th save.

ATLANTA (AP) — Dan Uggla homered and drove in all three Florida runs, Ricky Nolasco pitched seven strong innings and the Marlins avoided a sweep in the three-game set.

Nolasco (8-6) set a season high with 11 strikeouts while allowing six hits and two runs with only one walk. Leo Nunez pitched a perfect ninth for his 17th save.

Tim Hudson (8-4), one of five Atlanta all-stars, gave up six hits and three runs in eight innings. He's pitched at least seven innings in six straight starts. Hudson walked one, struck out seven and finished with four straight scoreless innings.
