the new compound will have a full high-voltage electric perimeter fence
Adams Coachlines managing director Adam Barnard said the offenders cut through a wire mesh fence at the depot – which is under construction – to get to the unlicensed vehicles.
He said he was disappointed by the incident because it would directly affect the company’s ability to support the community through sponsorship. However, he said the high-level security that would be in place when the compound was completed should prevent a similar event occurring.
“When complete, the new compound will have a full high-voltage electric perimeter fence, full compound lighting and motion sensing camera surveillance,” he said.“Also, as we operate 24/7, the premises will be manned at all times, so you have to be a pretty determined criminal to do it again.”
