Sata replaces GBM with Simbyakula
PF leader Michael Sata has appointed prominent legal expert and former Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) director Dr Ngosa Simbyakula as acting party chairman for elections.
Dr Simbyakula replaces Kasama Central member of parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as GBM, who was suspended last week for assaulting his wife, Chama.
In a letter to Dr Simbyakula dated September 9, 2010, which was also copied to PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba and Mwamba, Sata notified Dr Simbyakula of his new portfolio.
鈥淚 am pleased to inform you that I have decided to appoint you as acting chairman of the election committee of the Central Committee,鈥? read Sata鈥檚 letter.
鈥淧lease liaise with the secretary general who shall brief you on any outstanding election programmes which will require your immediate attention.鈥?
Dr Simbyakula is an advocate of the High Court and Supreme Court of Zambia. He was admitted to the Bar in 1981 and has been practicing law since then.
