Many of them are just beginning to come out of trunks and attics now
In fact, a weekend program at the Bristol Historical Society showed that the many quilts made during the wartime era are a richly evocative reminder of that period.
BHS hosted a display of about 30 WWII quilts, mostly from the collection of Sue Reich of Washington Depot. Reich recently published a book entitled "World War II Quilts" and she gave a slideshow talk Sunday to an audience of about 60 at BHS.
Reich started collecting in 2004. "It’s just a wonderful time period," she said. "Many of them are just beginning to come out of trunks and attics now."
