The tiny recently remodelled shop
Mama Dukes opened its doors a month ago at 15418 State Highway 507 S.E., on the corner of Mill Road. Already the couple has taken a number of custom orders for the handcrafted furniture and items available in the store.
The tiny recently remodelled shop has a warm, cozy cabin-like feel and smells primarily of wood — a change from its original scent. There is an assortment of country knick-knacks for sale along with other products and primitive furniture hand-made out of barn wood by Gregg Jones.
“This is how my house looks,” Diana Jones said. “People would come in and say, ‘You need to open a store.’ So we did. Plus, we love country.”
Gregg Jones calls himself a backyard carpenter and keeps the work as simple as he can.
“I do this as a hobby,” he said. “It’s been
zhongjibo a dream of hers to do something like this, so we decided to open up.”
