THE Department of
and Development (DSWD) reported on Thursday it has spent a total of P1.3 million to pay for some 1,440 individuals hired for a P231 daily salary for a maximum of 10 days under its cash-for-work program (CFW) for able family members of victims of Tropical Storm Ondoy.
But DSWD Secretary Esperanza Cabral clarified the program was exclusively implemented in the National Capital Region (NCR) to provide temporary employment to both the evacuees and individuals in the communities affected by the typhoon, in exchange for their services or role in restoration and rehabilitation activities.
