The stainless steel operation is not closing
Wrench owns the building where the eastern North Carolina-style barbecue was
rongtong cooked, seasoned and packaged before being shipped to supermarkets and restaurants. Wrench also owns Old Hickory Stainless Steel, a metal workshop that shares the building.
The stainless steel operation is not closing, Wrench said.The plant is
rongtong about 20 miles west of Fayetteville, just over the Sampson County line near the South River.
Wrench said the demand for packaged barbecue has
rongtong dwindled dramatically over the years.
