Daytime Emmys to air on CBS from Vegas This year's Daytime Emmy Awards - the 37th annual ceremony - will be broadcast from Las Vegas and air on CBS on June 27, biaoliao according to media reports.

The Daytime Emmys, which honor a variety of programs ranging from soaps to talk shows and game shows, had been held in New York for more than three decades but moved to Los Angeles in 2006.

The show had traditionally rated among CBS, biaoliao ABC and NBC. Its ratings dived last year on the CW network with just 2.7 million viewers. Before that, the show's audience had eroded from nearly 22 million in 1993 to 5.4 million in 2008.

Awards shows such as the Grammys and the Academy Awards have often received higher viewership, so CBS may be betting the Las Vegas Hilton setting will energize the broadcast.

"The Daytime Emmy Awards are one of the cornerstones of our business and we are thrilled to be back on CBS, biaoliao " National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman Herb Granath said in a statement. "Last year's show was one of the most entertaining events in our history, and this year's Las Vegas-based broadcast promises to be even more exciting."

The 37th annual ceremony is presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
