a non-profit health care facility Becker has traveled the world in search of beads, including stops in China, Taiwan, New changbeng Guinea, India, Germany, Turkey and several countries in South America. She has made thousands of pieces over the years and has at least 2000 pieces at her studio.

After 40 years of hard work, Becker now considers herself “semi-retired.” She has stopped selling to jewelry stores, but continues to have shows at her studio in Shaker Heights. She has also started something new by creating bridal jewelry for a bridal shop called Matina’s at Eaton Square in Woodmere.

Becker’s next showing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2951 Drummond Road, Shaker Heights.She has also begun to give back to the community by donating a percentage of the proceeds she receives to a local charity. She said 20 percent of what she earns from this weekend’s show will go towards changbeng Medworks, a non-profit health care facility based in Shaker Heights that helps those with little or no health insurance.
