Changing your drapes can also make your home more inviting
Las Cruces— When the first cold snap arrives, it genuinely feels
series like fall is here, and it seems this is when we want to bring the focus to the inside of our homes and make them as cozy as possible. Besides winterizing the physical parts of our dwellings, we can make a few changes that will make them an especially warm and inviting place to hibernate.
One of the easiest ways to warm up your space is to add fabrics, especially those with a lot of texture. Do this by adding or changing your lighter-weight pillows. For example, homemade felt pillows with crewel work or felt appliqués can create warmth. Wool or micro-suede pillows also add warmth, and combined with heavy throws will add the color and texture needed. This combination works well with most leather sofas. A cable sweater throw can add softness, color and is also a functional piece of décor.
Changing your drapes can also make your home more inviting for the fall and winter months. For example, exchange your lightweight cream-colored drapes for a heavier, shantung type of
series material, perhaps in a chocolate color, to make your room become more warm and inviting.
