ARMED police swooped on a Newton Abbot after threatening texts are understood to have been sent to a Paignton woman.
Officers sealed off Church Road in Newton Abbot on Thursday night, arresting a man and seizing a cache of weapons including Samurai swords, a baseball bat and a crossbow.
Twelve firearms officers, a dog handler and police response officers were sent to a flat at about 7.25pm on Thursday.
Officers were responding to reports that a series of text messages had been sent to the woman threatening to harm her current boyfriend.
The woman, who has not been named but lives in Paignton, had raised concerns with police about the nature of the text messages which are to have included a reference to a 'large bladed weapon'.
