我用的是笔记本外加一台17寸显示器。
1、xrandr--outputVGA--auto开启外接显示器。（如果不成功，就reboot下）
2、xrandr--outputVGA--auto--right-ofLVDS--mode1024x768把外接显示器扩展到本本显示器的右侧。
注：如果2出错，有可能是xorg没有设定相关屏幕分辨率，需手动调整，我的是这样的，红字部分。
