Recently , I am annoid about a problem : There are some problems about USB hard disk in Windows . When I plug the USB hard disk , the system will recongize it and it will display fine in the taskbar and device manager . but the disk label will not show in My Computer .
I am very worried as there are many useful materials in my computer . I am afraid these materails are lost due to the damage of hard disk . so i want to copy them to the USB hard disk . but the USB hard disk can't work in my host now .
first , i suspect that there are something wrong in my usb hard disk , I brought it to my company and it can work fine in my official computer .
I thought many methods , pq magic .. but failed later .
I go to the linux world to hope i can relive .
but when i insert an U disk , nothing happens , you can find anything using fdisk -l and cat /proc/partitions . And when you use dmesg , something error are displayed .
I rmmod the module ehci_hcd . and insert the U disk again . but it still failed . when you suing dmesg . the error messages disappear .
I don't know why . so i use xchat and log on the linux channel of FDFnet . after discuss with experts , I use another device --my mp3 USB disk . my god , it is found by linux ...
I will check the USB hard disk later in linux
if they can work fine , i will love linux more
