To set up rsh on SUSE Linux

To set up rsh on SUSE Linux® Enterprise Server (SLES) 9 or 10 nodes:

Turn on the rsh daemon using the chkconfig command: chkconfig rsh on
To check the rsh daemon's status, run the chkconfig command: chkconfig --list rsh
Add the management server's hostname and root to a new line in the $HOME/.rhosts file. For example: ms_hostname root
Run the /etc/rc.d/xinetd restart command.
