Update the esx server by viu tools . everytime before u update , u should delete the patch cache manually. The patch cache directory is under c:\documents and settings\"username"\Local Settings\Application Data\VMware\VMware Update Client\packages\.
"username" is the name u're using now in this windows os. Usually , the user which u used it to install the viclient(viu) is the user who u're manipulating with.
