A cluster enabled for HA monitors for host failure. If a host goes down, all virtual
machines that were on the host are promptly restarted on different hosts.
if you want POC/test your HA feature, cause a host failure by taking down one of the ESX Server in your cluster. this can be done using one of the following methods:
1) issue the reboot/poweroff command at the Service Console command line.
2) Power off the physical ESX Server (mean kickoff the power cable)
you can verify your host failure was detected by checking the event log, for example, if your cluster includes 2 nodes: bi-esx1 and bi-esx2, then bi-esx1 failed, you can check log files in bi-esx2:
