VMware ESX - EqualLogic Connectivity Test

first use web browser to log into EqualLogic Group Manager.

right click Volumes, select Create Volume:

the new volume name is “ESX-EQL-TEST”, size is 100G, we reserve no space for snapshot, you can change this setting later.

the next step is do LUN masking, you can specify initiator by IP address or IQN, IQN is preferred, since IP address changed occasionally, another reason do not use IP is you must specify both COS IP and VMkernel IP for LUN masking, since this is a requirement of VMware IP storage.

in the meanwhile, you can see initiator connected to target from EqualLogic Group Manager:
