How to set up VM as a print server.doc

set up a VM as print server is very simple, It can be done just by adding a parallel port to VM. below is the procedure:

1)     power off the VM

because this is the prerequisite of step 2

2)     add a parallel port to this VM. check the “connected” and “connect at power on” checkbox

3)     power on the VM

4)     in control panel, add a printer

5)     share the printer in printer set up page

6)     on print client, add printer \\VM IPaddr\\PrinterName

I have successfully add the printer in my laptop and printed the test page

you can just take a VM as a common physical machine, it’s all transparent to end user.
