Replacement considerations - ServeRAID (3HB, 3H, or 3L)

Symptom
When replacing ServeRAID 3HB, and ServeRAID 3H and 3L Adapters with 3.50.21 or lower firmware level installed, you must ensure that the new ServeRAID Adapter FRU p/n01K7396 or p/n01K7352 is at the 3.50.22 level of firmware.
If a system has RAID5E arrays with either ServeRAID 3HB, 3H, or 3L AND the new FRU is not at 3.50.22 firmware level or higher, the data is at risk and some features will not function.
Affected configurations
The system is any IBM server that supports the ServeRAID Adapter in use.

The ServeRAID 3HB, ServeRAID 3H, and ServeRAID 3L Adapter's Firmware is affected if the customer is using any of the following:
Solution
Download PC ServeRAID BIOS and Firmware Diskette Version 3.50B, or later, and flash the new FRU to Firmware level 3.50.22 and BIOS level 3.50.12.
NOTE: The Firmware and BIOS levels are different.

Additional information
If one is using RAID5E, FlashCopy, Adaptive Read Ahead, Identify Drive, or Cluster environment without Quorum Arbitration cable with their ServeRAID 3HB, ServeRAID 3H, or ServeRAID 3L adapters, then the adapter must be at 3.50.22 or later firmware level.
