install Exchange System Manager on Windows 7

I have been using Windows 7 for a while now without many problems. One problem that I was really annoyed with is that Microsoft has not yet created an installation package for Windows 7. After some trials and tribulations, I have found the solution. This works for both 32 and 64 bit OS’s

1. Download the Exchange System Manager for Windows Vista . Also download and install (if you haven’t done so yet) the Remote System Administration Tools for Windows 7 
2. Extract the ESM package to wherever you want. After the package is extracted, do not try and open the .exe yet – you will get an unfortunate “You need to be running Windows Vista” error message and you cannot continue with the installation
3. Open up an administrative Command Prompt and type ESMVISTA.MSI /qb

After you have completed the above steps, you should now be able to edit Exchange items in the ADUC, or directly with the ESM.
