A Software engineer and project manager with 3 years experience in Information Technology field with the certification from Microsoft of being an Enterprise Solution Provider also the certification of Linux Professional. My technical background and work experience are my strength. Also I can communicate with foreigner in English and German in both technical an business field without difficulties. My language ability helps a lot.
Q: Say something about yourself, please.
My name is Silvia Tsai. I am 29. I got my master of science degree in software development and management in 2002 from Rochester Institute of Technology. I can speak several languages, like German, English and of course my mother language Chinese and Taiwan dialect. My TOEFL score is 600. My personalities are aggressive, active, diligent, creative and imaginative.
I have been working as a project manager and software engineer for 3 years from 2000 to 2004 in digital sesame and Pattatech Company. To be specific, I do system analysis, trouble shooting and provide software support. I’ve not only gained the experience of pure coding, but also have been involved in many projects management. My managerial functions have also included hiring and training all new employees including supervising a staff of approximately 20 part-time workers.
From 1996 to 1997, I had been the sales of International Trade responsible for the market of Europe and United states. In that period of time, the environment gave me an excellent chance to use German in the letters and phones to develop the business in that country. I also translated some medical papers and the Siemens hoist operating instruction from German to Chinese.
Through serving many different business domains, the achievement to the goals of projects owes much to the sincere communication with people plus focusing hardworking and plenty information collecting from internet, related groups, and books. Therefore I firmly believe I am qualified to the job.
Q: How do you rate yourself as a profession?
By the certification from Microsoft and Linux Professional Institute, customer loyalty, and several projects successful outcomes proved me as a profession in both International Trading and information technology field.
Q: What contribution did you make to your previous organization?
I have finished three new projects.
Q: What makes you think you will be a success in this position?
My graduate school training combined with my working experiences should qualify me for this particular job. I am sure I will be successful.
Q: What leadership qualities did you develop as an administrative personnel?
I feel that learning how to motivate people and to work together as a team will be the major goal of my leadership.
Q: How do you normally handle criticism?
Silence is golden. Just don’t say anything; otherwise the situation could become worse. I do, however, accept constructive criticism. When we cool off, we can discuss it over.
Q: How do you handle your failure?
None of us was born “perfect”. I am sure I will be given a second chance to correct my mistake.
Q: What is most important in your life right now?
To get a job in my field is most important to me. And of course, to secure employment hopefully with your company.
Q: How long would you like to stay with this company?
I will stay as long as I can continue to learn and to grow in my field.
Q: Could you project what you would like to be doing five years from now?
As I have some administrative experience from my last job, I may use my organizational and planning skills in the future.

My reason for leaving the company is that my husband was sent by his company to Shanghai thus I left the company in Taiwan to settle down our family here.
