Some verbs are usually not used in the present continuous. These are called stative verbs.
Some stative verbs: be, believe, forget, have, know, like, see, want
Incorrect: *She is knowing many famous doctors.Correct: She knows many famous doctors.
Incorrect: *She is seeing many sick people every day.Correct: She sees many sick people every day.
When talking about routines, the present simple is almost always used, not the present continuous. For example:
Correct: I never win.Incorrect: *I am never winning.
Correct: We don't make noise after 11:00pm.Incorrect: *We aren't making noise after 11:00pm.
