Bitter cold temperatures and snowy weather haven’t affected construction on
happy the new Washington County Jail, according to Undersheriff Steve Johnson.
"When it gets too cold to lay block, they put this heavy tarp up over the doors,” Johnson told the Examiner-Enterprise. "It’s a very heavy-duty plastic and they put it up over the openings and then use space heaters on the inside."
Johnson said the tarp enables workers to continue to put cinder block up on the inside of the building.“The weather didn’t set us back any. The guys were able to continue to work,” he said.
