Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
John Krafcik has been at the helm of Hyundai Motors America since 2008 after a four-year stint as the company’s vice president of product development and strategic planning. He moved to Hyundai after a long tenure at Ford Motor Co.
He’s not one to take the credit but Krafcik’s fingerprints are all over the Korean manufacturer’s success in the United States.
Krafcik was interviewed during the recent media introduction of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Turbo and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid in LaJolla, Calif. As the sun set over Torrey Pines with the Pacific Ocean in the background, he fondly recalled growing up the last of eight children.
