It is important to select the right liner for your specific application. Some
processed liners might be over killfor your application while others might not get the job done. Beware of companies who only provide one type of liner for all applications. Most likely you will be paying too much for a pond liner or containment liner that will not work. One key to look for is if the liner provides a warranty from the company that makes the material itself. If the liner material has a 20 year warranty from the company who makes it for your specific type of application it will most likely be sufficient for your project. Another thing to note is that the thickness of the liner “mils” does not always equate to quality. Liners that are unreinforced for instance often need to be much thicker to achieve the same performance of a reinforced product.

Why? Reinforced linersnormally last longerand are more affordable than unreinforced liners. They are also often lighter and easier to work with than unreinforced liners and more forgiving. Many unreinforced products have to be very thick and put together in a specialized way (not using simple heat) to be effective (often 50 mils or more) they also often can’t be folded up without damaging the product. Western Environmental Liner provides unreinforced products such as PVC for specific jobs but in most cases reinforced products are the way to go.
