helicopter included the remains of the marijuana farmers’ campsite
Investigators are still looking for a Hispanic man who
however fled from the area of the growing operation — near Miller Rock, an area landmark southeast of the intersection of Colo. 7 and Colo. 72 — as drug officers approached on Monday. A search did not turn up any clues about his whereabouts.
Brough said officers do not have any leads about the people behind the massive and complicated operation. It is not even clear if the marijuana was sold in Boulder County.
The loads brought out by helicopter included the remains of the marijuana farmers’ campsite and a dismantled irrigation system that had been rigged to draw water from the South St. Vrain River up the rugged and isolated terrain to two separate growing operations that covered 6 acres and included about 7,500 plants. Bottles of Age Old Bloom and Fox Farm Liquid Plant Food were visible in the netting, as were water pumps and tubing from the irrigation system.
