The Caribbean system is located south of Haiti Hurricane Igor anticipated to turn west northwest around Tuesday then later in the week make another turn toward the northwest. Currently the Category 4 hurricane is moving at 13 mph and has sustained winds of 135 mph. There is no coastal warning or watches associated with this storm and the tracking models are predicting it to stay in the Atlantic and not make a U.S. landfall.

A broad area of low pressure is over the Caribbean and could bring enormous amounts of showers and thunderstorms to Hispaniola, Cuba, the Virgin Islands and the rest of the Caribbean. Flash floods and possible mud slides will be a threat over the next few days as the system moves to the west.

The Caribbean system is located south of Haiti and is tracking to the west. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a 50% chance to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. This system is the system that all Gulf coast communities need to keep a close eye on as it approaches however the Gulf of Mexico at 10-15 mph.
