a rage all over the world
Sankalp Kala Bazaar, an exhibition by artisans from across the country, will soon be organised in Mumbai. The focus of the exhibition is on products with strong contemporary designs that are handmade by artisans.
It is organised by ‘Sankalp Samaj Utthan Samiti’, a not-for-profit association that provides a common platform to artisans for showcasing and marketing their craft. It also helps them become self-reliant.
While Indian art forms are a rage all over the world, one can find a comprehensive slice of India here through the work of skilled craftspersons. “This is my first exhibition, but I have handled and conducted more than 30 exhibitions in various cities with Jaya Jaitly. I decided to hold my first exhibition in Mumbai because it has a great audience and people are responsive to and appreciate art and craft exhibitions,” says Santosh Meena, secretary of the association.
