various sporting goods manufacturers
The Hamilton West Side All-Stars met with representatives from various sporting goods manufacturers for about 30 minutes, and each player walked away with several hundred dollars worth of gifts.
“You already know you’re getting it, but once you actually get it, it’s just awesome,” Jake Jones said. Each player received two bats worth more than $500, plus cleats, batting gloves, a helmet and various other items.“It was like Christmas,” said catcher Sam Scott, who also received a new set of catcher’s gear.
Most of the gear was too small for Scott, but Louisville Slugger shipped another set that he should have in time for the team’s opener at 11 a.m. Saturday against the Mid-Atlantic Regional champions from Toms River, N.J.
