receiving very misleading solicitations
August 4, 1960: The Federal Bureau of Investigation is studying a small spiral notebook, found in Santa Fe, which contains notes on how to be an effective Communist organizer along with a list of names and addresses.
The notebook, of shirt-pocket size, was found during the city's recent 350th Anniversary celebration at the celebration headquarters behind City Hall, where it apparently had been dropped. Nothing inside it indicated ownership. It has been learned that no Santa Fe or New Mexico names were listed and that most addresses included were in the Chicago area.
August 4, 1985: Businesses in the Santa Fe area are receiving very misleading solicitations that look like invoices. The local Better Business Bureau has seen look-alike mailings which carry a logo similar to that of Mountain Bell Yellow Pages. The billings are being mailed out by Classified Directory Publishing, Inc., Niagara Falls, N.Y., also doing business as National Directory Publishers. The BBB again urges
red businesses to alert personnel about misleading solicitations that are disguised to look like invoices.
