Fellow Lancaster native Kendall Allen took sixth
Jacob ended the day on the podium, and Kenny is sporting a much shorter haircut these days.
"The chances of kids making it to worlds in their first year are slim and none," Jacob's mother Nicki Green said. "This whole experience has just been a dream come true."
Jacob wasn't the only one to finish on the podium July 24 in Akron. Fellow Lancaster native Kendall Allen took sixth in the Rally Stock Division, the same class as Jacob.
Jacob is the first in his family to take up soap box derby racing. When he and his mother visited the Lancaster Soap Box Derby's booth at the Fairfield County Fair in 2009, Jacob got the chance to sit in a racer for the first time.
