Preschool students at Kiddie U Learning Center in Dr. Phillips recently raised $230 for St BJ's Wholesale Club, in partnership with Procter & Gamble's corporate cause Live, Learn and Thrive, donated $5,000 to Boys & Girls Club of Downtown Orlando to fund its Power Hour Program.

Fifteen Orlando-area Popeyes restaurants participated in the Appetite for a Cure fundraiser to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, raising more than $52,000.

Employees from eight Florida Hospital locations, 18 Centra Care locations and other related facilities collected and donated more than 9,500 pounds of food and $7,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank. AT&T Inc. donated $50,000 to the Orlando Science Center to provide underserved students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics with hands-on learning experiences geared toward new technologies.

Approximately 60 Kohl's Department Stores associates from Orlando-area stores participated in a beautification project benefitting the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, and the nearby Hubbard House. More than 31 local Comcast Corp. employees, family members and friends volunteered for a day of service at the Central Florida Compassion Center as part of the ninth annual Comcast Cares Day. Kiddie U added $520 to the donation. Also, Artificial pumpkin students and families filled a tractor-trailer with needed and requested items for the Haiti Relief effort two months ago.
