St. Catharines Lincoln Fabrics is being sued by the United States government, which alleges it knowingly supplied faulty bulletproof vests.
In a suit filed last Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice accuses the Port Dalhousie company and its Alabama-based subsidiary of selling bulletproof vests made with a defective synthetic fabric called Zylon to American law enforcement agencies.
The government alleges the companies sold the vests even though they knew Zylon fabric has been proven to degrade quickly over time, in hot and humid
Textile fabric conditions.
