Saturday, dozens of people donated wigs for the Make a Day project led by the 200-plus Nashville members of Links Inc., an international female volunteer and service organization.
The wigs were washed and prepared for donation to the American Cancer Society Nashville chapter. Simone Sheats, a member of Links Inc. Parthenon Chapter and creator of the wig donation project, said the group will continue to collect wigs through Nov. 15 due to an overwhelming response.
She said the idea came about when she called the American Cancer Society regarding the Make A Difference Day project. She discovered that there were plenty of wig options in the wig bank, but any for African-American
Hair replacement women.
