Marc Poirette has announced the availability of the second beta release of 2.0, a desktop distribution and live CD featuring the KDE desktop environment and based on Debian's testing branch: "PureOS 2.0 beta 2 is available; it is built with the Linux-Live scripts 6.2.9. It's a light evolution of the beta 1 release while waiting for the arrival of KDE 4.3.0 in Debian testing. Modifications: KDE 4.2.4; OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 - Calc, Draw, Impress, Writer (Base has been removed); the Kommander installer replaces the Zenity installer; wicd replaces KNetworkManager; additions - sux, Midnight Commander, Krusader; QtCurve theme and identical fonts for KDE and the GTK+ applications."
