Warren Woodford has announced the availability of the first release candidate for 6.5: "RC1
of SimplyMEPIS 32 and 64 is available for testing. This release adds an
improved MEPIS Network Assistant, the latest ALSA sound drivers, and
numerous minor fixes. The MEPIS Beryl theme was tweaked to look more
consistent with the rest of SimplyMEPIS. The package lists between 32
and 64 bits were compared and it was discovered that Kino needed to be
added to 64 bit. In addition, RC1 was tested to verify that it is ready
