| "SimplyMEPIS beta 7 has latest multimedia and 3D support," declares title of the press release that announces the latest development build of 6.5: "Beta 7 of SimplyMEPIS 32 and 64 has been uploaded for testing. This release brings together the recent SimplyMEPIS changes: updated MPlayer and Firefox packages, as well as opt-in to try the Beryl 3D desktop and opt-in to use the NVIDIA 3D driver. In Beta 7, Beryl 0.2.0.rc2 is integrated to run in a KDE session. It can be ignored by those who don't have 3D acceleration or who don't want the 3D desktop. MEPIS Beryl can be run from live CD or USB key with most NVIDIA, ATI and Intel graphics hardware. It comes pre-configured to just work."
