Tomáš Matějíček has announced the third pre-release of the all-new 6.0 live CD: "A third preview of SLAX 6 is available." The new SLAX, which is fast approaching a stable state, uses the Aufs file system and is based on the latest Linux kernel 2.6.20 with LZMA-compressed modules, SMP support and NdisWrapper modules for wireless networking. Other new features include: script to create a bootable live USB in both Linux and Windows; udev as a replacement for hotplug; full sound support with ALSA 1.0.14; NTFS read and write support; isolinux for booting from CD, syslinux for booting from a USB device; based on Linux-Live scripts 6.0.1.
