Yuichiro Nakada has announced a new unstable release of Linux, version 0.76. According to the , this is the first Berry based on the recently released Fedora Core 6, with most components updated to their upstream versions. Berry Linux 0.76 is based on Linux kernel 2.6.18 with SMP, ndev/udev and bootsplash patches, support for Unionfs 1.4, FUSE file system and proprietary kernel module from NVIDIA, version 1.0-9625. It also includes glibc 2.5, GCC 4.1.1, X.Org 7.1, KDE 3.5.5, OpenOffice.org 2.0.4, Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5.0.8, Xgl/AIGLX + Beryl 0.1.2, MPlayer 1.0rc1.
