Question: will it still work for snapshots after VM migrated from vSphere 3.5 to 4.1 version?
Answer:
ESX3.5 VM’s snapshot can work on
ESX4.1, but the Host physical CPU must keep same family.
Otherwise, you will
get error “ The features supported by the processors in this machine are
different from the features supported by the processors in the machine on which
the checkpoint was saved. Try to resume the snapshot on a machine where the
processors have the same features.”
BTW, when you go back to that snapshot, the version of Virtual Machine will go back to "4" instead of "7".
