(This test does not apply if the application installer does not include .msi extension, or does not use Windows Installer for installation.

Test Objectives

Windows Installation packages must not receive Errors from the (ICEs) indicated in this test case.

Warnings represent design guidance to the package author which should be investigated. Best Practice is to fix Warnings, but is not a requirement of the Log Program.

Documenting the Results 要求制作结果文档

Check Pass if the application does not receive any ICE errors during validation.

Check Fail if the application receives any ICE errors during Validation. Contact ISV for fix requirement. Attach any required Logs or documentation.

STEPS:步骤

1. Open Orca.
2. Identify and locate all MSI packages from the application’s installer. A Chainer will not indicate which MSI packages may be called during install.
3. For each MSI package, open the application’s MSI installer package in Orca

a. From the tools menu click on Validate

从工具菜单点击“Validate”按钮
b. Select Full MSI Validation Suite from the Evaluation File drop down menu

在弹出的窗口中找到“Evaluation”文字，后面下拉菜单选择“Full MSI Validation Suite”

c. Uncheck show “INFO” Messages check box

取消勾选 “show “INFO” Messages check”的单选框

d. Click Go
e. View ICE logs
f. Make note of all errors.注意所有错误

The application’s MSI package must not receive the following errors from the Internal Consistency Evaluators (ICE) in order to pass this test case:

1-2, 4-7, 9-15, 17-24, 27-29, 31, 33-36, 38, 40-42, 44-56, 59, 61-63, 65, 67-71, 74-78, 81-84, 86-87, 89-94, 96-99

以上的数字标号错误（错误是Error,警告是warning）如果出现在ICE中，也就是用ORCA测试的结果，那么该软件在此测试用例为失败。

 

注意：

 

Any errors that are received as a result of the ICE validation must be fixed. Use ORCA to copy, paste and save results into a text editor such as notepad.exe for easy retrieval.
