What happens when a pair of Toms shoes gets wet?

I really like Toms shoes because they look soo cute and I heard that they are really comfortable. But I have also heard about some problems with them getting wet (like when you step in a puddle after it rains). Well I don't know what happens because I've heard so many things that could be true or false (and no I have never seen them wet). So I would really appreciate answers (telling me what happens or showing me pictures of what happens cause I've never found any)
