I am going to re-start the reading-learning practice project, except this time it is going to be only one paragraph long.  As my Chinese is bad, I need everyone's help in providing translations for some of the highlighted words and terms for the beginners.

  Personally, I think these are good both for the beginners, and those who already have a good command of English, but want to go one step further. You can use this for reading pleasure, for learning new words and phrases, or as practice material for translation and writing—even if just writing a sentence or two with those highlighted words and phrases.

If you want your practice writing/translation check over by others, leave them here as follow up posts.
